We're looking for team members who are visionary, hard-working and committed to community building!*PM Weekend Shift Availability Required* Job Summary: The Deli Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, production wares and equipment. In addition they will be called upon to stock, maintain and clean deli sales floor display and service areas. The assistant may also participate in packing and labeling food for deli sale using accurate and sanitary techniques. All Deli staff assist in achieving departmental and storewide goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Customer Service
- Provide prompt, courteous, knowledgeable customer service.
- Offer samples, suggestions for purchase, and nutrition information to customers.
- Direct customer suggestions, comments, and complaints to the appropriate staff member.
- Assist customers with finding items in the store.
- Maintain knowledge of storewide initiatives and the benefits of ownership. Assist customers with becoming an owner when applicable.
- Effectively respond to departmental phone calls and develop a thorough understanding of Eastside's phone systems.
- Wear approved attire and nametag while on duty.
Department Maintenance
- Wash and store kitchen production tools and equipment according to established procedures.
- Ensure floors are clean and safe. Remove garbage and recycling according to schedule.
- Clean kitchen equipment according to schedule or as directed.
- Properly receive and store food and paper deliveries into appropriate areas.
- Clean, stock, and support Deli sales floor and service areas as directed.
- Follow proper shut-down or opening routines.
- Exercise appropriate equipment usage and care. Notify manager of possible safety concerns.
- Participate in all department communication systems.
Food Handling
- Follow Eastside Deli procedures and MN food safety rules at all times.
- Pack salads, baked goods and other food for retail display when needed.
- Assist sales floor staff as directed.
Other Responsibilities
- Adhere to the safety policies of the department and store, including the proper use of all equipment.
- Follow work schedule as posted with regular, predictable attendance.
- Attend all required department and storewide meetings and training sessions.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers throughout the store.
- Adhere to store and department policies.
- Maintain knowledge of management and staff structure.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Deli manager and other managers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED - High school diploma or equivalent
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Frequent reaching, bending, twisting, and rotating
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to lift and move 60 pounds frequently during a shift
- Corrected vision to enable reading of small print
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasional contact with mold, allergens, garbage.
