GENERAL PURPOSE: Under general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the physician is responsible for quality and completeness of assigned medical services at any of the corporation clinic sites.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- 1) Examines, diagnosis, prescribes and administers treatment to patients
- 2) Supervises and directs family nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other mid-level providers
- 3) Oversees the performance of nursing and other support personnel
- 4) Reviews laboratory, x-ray findings and diagnosis other tests
- 5) Documentation/Completion of EHR/Medical Records and keep case histories in accordance with the corporation's procedures
- 6) Participates in consumer education and in-service training for support personnel
- 7) Meets all the contractual requirements
- 8) Quality of care (Quality Measures) and participation in Peer Review
- 9) Other physician duties as assigned by supervisor

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- 1) Must hold MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school 2) Must have completed and approved internship
- 3) Must hold a valid California State Physician and Surgeon License
- 4) Must be Board Certified or Board eligible
- 5) Current CPR certification
- 6) Must be sensitive to the corporation's diverse patient population
- 7) Demonstrate clear knowledge of clinic structure, standards, procedures and protocols
COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:
- 1) Must have neat and legible handwriting
- 2) Must be able to interact with patients, vendors and co-workers courteously and calmly
- 3) Ability to communicate well with the public
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Works well with patients, co-worker and vendors in a generally comfortable environment office. Employees must possess the following physical requirement:
- 1) Must be in good health and able to lift up to 40 lbs and push up to 100 lbs (on wheels)
- 2) Must be able to work on feet the majority of the day without tiring
- 3) Must be able to hear adequately to auscultate B/PS
- 4) Must have vision which is adequate to read increments on tuberculin syringe accurately
- 5) Must have high manual dexterity and tactile sensation on fingertips
- 6) Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, bend, squat and sit, and twist/turn
- 7) Routinely exposed to blood borne pathogens and may be subjected to verbally and/or un behavior patients
- 8) Routinely exposed to contagious/infectious diseases
