JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Production Support Engineer serves as a pivotal leader connecting manufacturing teams, physical products, and the broader Engineering organization. This role carries the responsibility of translating identified issues into engineered solutions while driving cross-functional collaboration and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Leveraging a robust foundation of engineering expertise and practical experience, the Lead Production Support Engineer will define, investigate, and implement solutions, ensuring the timely closure of complex challenges.

- Coordinate and distribute workload assigned by Engineering management to the Production Support Engineering team.
- Act as the primary liaison between engineering teams and assigned internal customers, programs, and products, establishing strategic priorities and objectives to enhance product reliability and performance.
- Lead the management of problem reports, structuring internal communications and establishing a daily cadence for updates on assigned programs and products, ensuring alignment and accountability across teams.
- Provide comprehensive daily updates on problem resolution progress, leveraging data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for proactive intervention.
- Collaborate closely with Project Engineers to synthesize feedback from problem report data and ensure the dissemination of lessons learned across the Engineering organization, driving continuous product and process improvement initiatives.
- Employ advanced analytical and problem-solving methodologies to expedite resolution of complex issues, particularly under tight deadlines, while mentoring team members in best practices.
- Utilize engineering expertise to translate technical issues into actionable language, guiding change management processes to implement effective solutions.
- Lead the execution of defined changes, applying design, modeling, and drafting skills, while overseeing the work of Project Engineers to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Strategically manage time and priorities to ensure the timely resolution of defined issues, aligning efforts with internal and external demands and company goals.
- Deliver clear and impactful communication regarding problem resolution, both verbally and through written presentations, to ensure a broad understanding of outcomes and implications.
- Leverage feedback from internal and external stakeholders to champion the optimization of designs for manufacturability and assembly, enhancing overall product quality.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers, ensuring the Engineering team is appropriately involved and informed throughout the process.
- Serve as the Engineering representative on the Material Review Board (MRB), leading the disposition of non-conforming products and advocating for engineering solutions that uphold product integrity.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline is required
Experience:
- 5+ years of related experience required, 2+ of those years in the aircraft industry
- The position requires a wide knowledge of Engineering, design principles, manufacturing techniques, and the constraints of change within an Aerospace environment
Skills:
- System design - Ability to understand how smaller components can fit into larger systems of products and associated processes.
- Attention to detail - Ability to consider a myriad of details from the problem-solving and concept stages to the testing and modeling phases and ensuring that nothing critical gets lost in the process.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to approach every problem and task with a calm and analytical mind and being able to solve all aspects of issues at reduced risk levels.
- Desire to learn – Ability to immerse in the specifics of the product design intent, staying updated on industry trends, while absorbing new technologies and engineering techniques.
- Excellent communication skills - Ability to transfer information to members of the team, and being able to explain concepts at all levels, clearly, and concisely using appropriate methods.
- Planning and time management skills – Ability to quickly and dynamically identify priorities, plan activity accordingly, and manage time to ensure execution.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Microsoft Office proficiency (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Knowledge of related software including CATIA, AUTOCAD, and PLM
- Experience of applying formal root cause and corrective action methodology .

- International and domestic travel may be required. Odd hours will also be required as needed based on customers' needs
- Will be on call to respond to customers’ needs

- This position requires occasional mandatory weekend work, including a rolling Saturday shift once a month

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Adient Aerospace offers competitive wages and benefits to recognize employees for their work. The base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
Salary Range Transparency: $110,000 - $125,000 annually
