Position Summary:

Plans and releases work orders and coordinates with all functions to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements and customer demands. Drives activities and priorities that will meet all KPI and business objectives. Develops and executes planning processes, material flow procedures, and business analyses that will drive continuous improvement in the operations management system.

Requirements:

Planning Management:

  • Monitors and facilitates daily material requirements and key performance indicators (KPI) to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Monitors the status of production jobs, identifies constraints, determines root cause, and implements or recommends corrective action to ensure timely and efficient production effort.
  • Manage production capacity to customer demands to ensure maximum production velocity and efficiency.
  • Manage key performance metrics, including but not limited to; on time start, on time delivery, past-due sales, and days on hand inventory.

Supplier Management:

  • In conjunction with procurement, works closely with vendors to ensure priorities are aligned.
  • Identifies and communicates shortages or increased lead times to cross functional teams; including buyers.
  • Controls and communicates status of inventory at suppliers, disposition of obsolete inventory and monitoring the age of others.
  • Materials Administration:
  • Participates with production and operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and prioritize materials needed based on MRP analysis.
  • Participates in development of new product introductions (NPI) and design changes by creating and monitoring build plans, releasing jobs, etc. to enable project team to achieve objectives for new product integration.
  • Support/enforce continuous improvement, Lean, Six-Sigma and other Chandler initiatives.

Total Quality:

  • Interfaces with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure timely throughput and proper prioritization of materials received.
  • Coordinates with Quality to resolve Discrepant Material Review (DMR) and other quality issues to realign the production schedule when necessary.
  • Works with Production and Quality to coordinate job changes to account for rework or additional process changes.

Inventory Management:

  • Support process adherence and master data accuracy for demand planning, replenishment, and inventory optimization.
  • Manages and updates appropriate item information in the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system for best turns and cost of product.
  • Analyze and initiate steps to minimize the financial and operations impact of carrying excess, obsolete and expired materials.
  • Work with procurement to ensure an uninterrupted supply of raw materials, services, and manufactured components to meet production and customer demand.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in supply chain, procurement, or planning in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
  • Business acumen; ability to interact and influence all levels within the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong reasoning and negotiation skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills – taking a project from start to finish.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Self-directed; ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to travel monthly Montevideo division.
