As a Quality Control Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of our food manufacturing processes. This position is instrumental in ensuring that our products meet all quality benchmarks and regulatory requirements. The role involves overseeing the Quality Control Department, implementing effective QC strategies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and manage the daily activities of the Quality Control Department, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
2. Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
3. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify any deviations from quality standards and implement corrective actions.
4. Train and mentor QC staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
5. Collaborate with other departments to drive quality initiatives and ensure that quality considerations are integrated into all aspects of our operations.
6. Manage and maintain our Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring it is up-to-date and compliant with all relevant standards.
7. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program, ensuring food safety and quality.
8. Develop, implement, and monitor Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans, ensuring food safety risks are effectively managed.
9. Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, providing insights into quality performance and recommending improvements.
Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in a related field. A master's degree or equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous.
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Quality Control role within the food manufacturing industry.
3. Demonstrated experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safe Quality Food (SQF) program, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans.
4. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to achieving high standards of quality.
6. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations relating to quality control in the manufacturing industry.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
8. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
9. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
10. Certification in quality control or related field would be a plus.
